Experience four centuries of military history at this time-line event. Displays of military vehicles, living history camps, uniforms and weapons, military rations and special demonstrations highlight the weekend.

Program Schedule:

 

10:00 am – Colors Ceremony. Accompanied by stirring fife and drum music, soldiers raise the colors of the United States, Great Britain and France, the nations who held Fort Niagara. 

11:00 am – Weapons Program 1400-1970. See the development of military weaponry over a 500-year period, from Medieval Times through the 20th Century. 

Noon – Artillery Firing Demonstration. Soldiers load and fire an 18th century field gun. 

1:00 pm – 18th Century Uniform and Weapons Demonstration. Find out how soldiers were clothed and equipped during the colonial wars and the American Revolution. 

1:00 pm - Presentation by Ed Jackson, Post Commander, Lake Ontario Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars. "The return of the 28th Infantry Regiment from World War One." Officers Club. 

2:00 pm – 19th Century Uniform and Weapons Demonstration. See how soldiers were clothed and equipped during the War of 1812, the Civil War and the Spanish American War. Learn about how weapons technology advanced from the flintlock to the 45/70. 

2:30 pm Military Music  Old Fort Niagara's fifes and drums perform popular favorites from the 70s (The 1770s)

3:00 pm 20th Century Uniform and Weapons Demonstration. Learn how soldiers were clothed and equipped during World War One, World War Two and Vietnam. 

3:30 pm Small Unit Tactical Demonstration.  

3:30 pm - Presentation by Ed Jackson, Post Commander, Lake Ontario Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars. "The return of the 28th Infantry Regiment from World War One." Officers Club. 

4:15 pm - Military Music and Retreat.

April 1- June 30, Open Daily 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

July and August, Open Daily 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

September 1 - October 15, Open Daily 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

October 16 - December 31, Open Wednesday through Sunday (Closed Mondays and Tuesdays) 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

The fort will be open daily during Christmas week, December 26 - 31. 

Closed New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
