Civil War Garrison

Sat Jun 12th, 2021 to Sun Jun 13th, 2021 - All Day
This living history event explores life at Fort Niagara between 1861-1865

Sponsored by Old Fort Niagara and the reenactors from the 49th New York Volunteer Infantry, the weekend will provide a look into the life of a Union Army garrison at Fort Niagara during the American Civil War.  Although, as the event is depicting “garrison life” there will be no “battle demonstration” typical of many reenactments, however, the event will include many various, ongoing, socially-distanced demonstrations, including:

weapons demonstrations and company drill

19th century engineering

Cooking

Medicine

Military music

Common soldier life

Officer life

Women with the army
