This school program explores life at a frontier outpost in the 18th century.

This educational program explores the early Native American, French, British and American history of the Niagara Region. Topics include Haudenoaunee history and culture, guard a fort, musket and cannon firings, historic clothing, women's roles at a military fort and more. Your school may be eligible for a grant from Ladders to the Outdoors that covers admission and transportation costs. Here is how-

1. Book your tour with Old Fort Niagara (see above)

2. Apply to Ladders to the Outdoors https://parks.ny.gov/environment/ladders-to-the-outdoors.aspx

3. If accepted, you will receive a confirmation code from Ladders to the Outdoors.

4. Bring the confirmation when you visit the fort and present it at the admissions desk.

January through March, Open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. (Closed Monday-Thursday) 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m

April- May, Open Wednesday through Sunday. (Closed Mondays and Tuesdays) 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Memorial Day to June 30, Open 7 Days per week 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

July and August, Open 7 Days per week 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

September 1 - October 15, Open 7 Days per week. 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

October 16 - December 31, Open Wednesday through Sunday (Closed Mondays and Tuesdays) 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

The fort will be open daily during Christmas week, December 26 - 31. 

Closed New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Old Fort Niagara is operated by the Old Fort Niagara Association, an independent, not-for-profit organization established in 1927. We do not rely on tax dollars. Instead, the Fort is funded through a combination of admission fees, museum shop sales, and charitable contributions.
