Join National Park Service Ranger Roger Osorio February 23, 2023, to learn about the history of the all-Black 24th Infantry. The 24th Infantry served from 1869 through the Korean War. Learn about how the 24th Infantry formed and their accomplishments over the decades. How they established roads in Alaska and protected Yosemite National Park. Learn about the Buffalo Soldiers who once served in the 24th Infantry as well. Like General Benjamin O. Davis Jr. and MLB Hall of Famer, Wilber Joe “Bullet” Rogan. As well as Isaac Mays and William Thompson who were awarded the Medal of Honor. "

Ranger Roger Osorio

"Park Ranger Roger Osorio is the Education and Outreach Coordinator at Charles Young Buffalo Soldiers National Monument in Wilberforce, Ohio. Ranger Roger has been with Charles Young Buffalo Soldiers National Monument since 2021. Mr. Osorio is originally from the Bronx, New York. He received his bachelor's degree in history from the University at Albany, SUNY, in New York in 2018. Since 2018, Ranger Roger has worked with the National Park Service working at various National Park sites. These include Salem Maritime & Saugus Iron Works National Historic Site, Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park, San Juan National Historic Site, Carlsbad Caverns National Park, and Chiricahua National Monument. "

April 1- June 30, Open Daily 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

July and August, Open Daily 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

September 1 - October 15, Open Daily 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

October 16 - December 31, Open Wednesday through Sunday (Closed Mondays and Tuesdays) 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

The fort will be open daily during Christmas week, December 26 - 31. 

Closed New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
