Phase two of the project aimed at shoring up the brick revetments on the main fort walls got underway during September. Workers are making substantial repairs to the curtain wall on both sides of the Sally Port. The project is funded through a $200,000 grant administered by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. Phase One was completed last year as a Save America's Treasures project. The first phase restored the top of the curtain wall and installed a moisture barrier to  block the infiltration of water. The current phase goes to work restoring the badly deteriorated face of the curtain wall.

Work has been completed replacing posts and rails along the approach to the Drawbridge trestle. The Fort's own buildings and grounds forces took on the project after noticing that posts had deteriorated and were no longer stable.  Thanks to Wolfe Lumber for their kind donation of railing materials.
