This school program introduces students to daily life on the Niagara Frontier during the18th and early 19th centuries

This educational program explores the early Native American, French, British and American history of the Niagara Region. Topics include Haudenoaunee history and culture, guard a fort, musket and cannon firings, historic clothing, women's roles at a military fort and more. Admission for this special program is $15.00 per person (teachers are free). Your school may be eligible for a grant from Ladders to the Outdoors that covers admission and transportation costs. Here is how-

1. Book your tour with Old Fort Niagara (see above)

2. Apply to Ladders to the Outdoors https://parks.ny.gov/environment/ladders-to-the-outdoors.aspx

3. If accepted, you will receive a confirmation code from Ladders to the Outdoors.

4. Bring the confirmation when you visit the fort and present it at the admissions desk.

April 1- June 30, Open Daily 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

July and August, Open Daily 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

September 1 - October 15, Open Daily 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

October 16 - December 31, Open Wednesday through Sunday (Closed Mondays and Tuesdays) 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

The fort will be open daily during Christmas week, December 26 - 31. 

Closed New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Old Fort Niagara is operated by the Old Fort Niagara Association, an independent, not-for-profit organization established in 1927. We do not rely on tax dollars. Instead, the Fort is funded through a combination of admission fees, museum shop sales, and charitable contributions.
